  • The part in the article regarding the genetics says: an individual's risk of early death increased if grandparents grew up in times of food abundance. Is this a typo?

  • Oxygen is the most necessary food for brain's activity. Scientists should pay more attention to benefits of deep breathing, which is taught in all ancient cultures. Promote t'ai chi, yoga and similar activities, that renew and nourish our brain.

  • Great take on what food can do for the brain but what about brain exercise. Aren't there a lot more studies out there showing how watching Jeopardy, playing crosswords or playing brain games (http://www.fitbrains.com/games/) is great for intellectual maintenance and developement?

  • It is interesting how academia acknowledges the usefulness of dietary interventions in brain health for conditions that are more or less politically correct, but in other conditions, such as regressive encephalopathy which most call "autism," academia ignores, or should I say funding sources ignore, dietary interventions.
