This is not a hidden camera catching a daring after-hours heist by van. Nor is it a truck commercial. This is, in fact, how "night transforms a landscape from something recognizable and known into something felt and seen," says San Diego-based photographer Scott Davis. And he ought to know; Davis has made a career out of capturing evocative and soul-stirring images from both the night and the desert. We sent him out to prowl the campus after the sun set last spring and around midnight, our dark knight discovered and shot this unusual UCLA "landscape" at a loading zone near Bradley International Hall.
